A Christmas Celtic Sojourn returns for our 20th year!

Brian O’Donovan’s A Celtic Sojourn has entertained and enlightened radio audiences since 1986. Now celebrating two decades of holiday performances, the Christmas-time live version of the show draws on Celtic, Pagan, and Christian traditions to celebrate the music of the season. A Christmas Celtic Sojourn reflects the compelling and diverse offerings of the weekly national radio program plus the excitement of a live show featuring the Celtic world’s best performers. The 2022 iteration of the show promises once again to be one of the chestnuts of the region’s Christmas offerings.

In 2022, A Christmas Celtic Sojourn will be both live on-stage and virtual for you to enjoy. Our goal is to be there for you again this holiday season. We will sing together our familiar songs, and as always, introduce new traditional material.

All live shows are scheduled from Dec. 10-18 with virtual performances available until Jan. 2.

Welcome to A Christmas Celtic Sojourn

Brian O’Donovan returns as host and producer. Also produced and directed by Jenna Worden with Music Direction by Seamus Egan and Maeve Gilchrist, and Dance Direction by Ashley Smith-Wallace. The Christmas Celtic Ensemble is still being assembled, but we are beyond excited.

What’s Different This Year

2022's A Christmas Celtic Sojourn will be a mixture of both live performances and a streaming virtual show. Our live shows will be full capacity and we anticipate that proof of vaccination will be required but that is up to the discretion of the individual theatres. Your safety is our number one priority. We will be following CDC, state and local guidelines throughout.

Our Virtual Show this year will be a highly produced stream of the live performance from The Cutler Majestic Theatre in downtown Boston.
